Steamboat is known for its ultra dry champagne powder, but that doesn’t mean it’s the only snow we receive. The six day storm from December 17th to 23rd was a Pineapple Express, a storm named for the high level of moisture it brings up from tropical areas like Hawaii. The storm went a bit south and buried resorts in southern Colorado, but Steamboat still made out with plenty of snow.

Burton invited me out to Keystone for a couple of days to learn a bit more about their Learn To Ride (LTR) program. The two-day “Super Clinic” was a chance to dig deeper into the LTR program, and get a behind-the-scenes look at where Burton is going with it.
